Milestones

1994
Target International was established by Robert Lee as an engineering support firm for US lighting companies that wanted to buy lighting in China.

1997
Target opened our first manufacturing facility, Target Die Casting, producing die castings and permanent mold castings. We began pouring aluminum in June of that year.

1998-1999
Target established our first assembly facility, Target Assembly, under the same roof as the die casting facility, and began the precision machining and assembly of low voltage lighting parts. By the end of 1999, Target had 500 employees, including over 20 mechanical engineers.

2000
Target Assembly and offices were moved to their current location in Zhongcun. Since 2000, Target has developed assembly capability in commercial outdoor lighting, indoor and outdoor architectural lighting, high-end decorative lighting and low voltage systems.

2005
Xiongyi Precision Metalworking Co., Ltd. was established to house Target's extensive precision machining equipment and knowledge base, and to segregate this specialized skill set from the rest of the business. Meanwhile, Target group had 1500 employees by the end of that year.

2007
Target broke ground on a new factory space to house our growing die casting business. The new company was named Xiongzhi Industrial Lighting Mfg. Co., Ltd. We began pouring metal at the new facility in November 2007. It is vertically integrated, so that a die cast luminaire can be completely built in-house, from casting tool & die through final luminaire assembly and packaging.

2010
Target division Xiongyi Precision Metalworking Co., Ltd opened a new Glass Studio on the factory premises. In this Studio operation we blow high quality glass used on our lighting fixtures, and experiment with new production processes to continually improve our glass blowing skills.

2011
Target division Xiongyi Precision Metalworking Co., Ltd has acquired and is renovating an electroplating factory off-site. When renovated by the end of the year, it will produce the high mix and low-high volume plated finishes that we require for our unique decorative lighting products.
